Butterwort Pinguicula

Light: Pinguicula grow best in moderately bright, indirect light from an east or west facing window. You can also use LED grow lights placed about 12 inches from the plant. 

Water: Keep the soil damp but not waterlogged. Use low-mineral water (50 ppm or less) and avoid tap water, bottled water, spring water, and well water. You can place the pot in a tray or saucer and add up to ¼ inch of water to the saucer. 

Soil: Pinguicula prefer alkaline soil mixes with good drainage, such as a "Ping Pot" with a rock blend and optional living moss. You can also use a mixture of two parts peat, one part silica sand, one part perlite, and one part vermiculite. 

Temperature: Pinguicula prefer warm, humid conditions during the summer, and cooler, drier conditions during the winter. They tolerate cool temperatures but always protect from frost. 

Humidity: Pinguicula needs moderate to high humidity, but can tolerate low humidity.
