- Appearance: Males have more intense colors, especially red fins, while females are stockier.
- Size: Rarely exceeds 1 inch (2.5 cm).
- Temperament: Peaceful and can be shy, but bolder in larger groups.
- Diet: Omnivore; eats flakes, micro-pellets, and live/frozen foods like daphnia, brine shrimp, and worms.
- Tank Size: Minimum 10 gallons, but 20+ gallons is better for a larger school.

- Temperature: 72–79°F (22–26°C).
- pH: 6.5–7.8.
- Setup: Heavily planted tanks with driftwood and leaf litter are ideal to mimic their natural habitat and provide hiding spots.
- Tank Mates: Peaceful nano fish like small tetras, shrimp, guppies, and corydoras catfish. Avoid large, fast-moving fish.
- Common Names: Also called Galaxy Rasbora or CPD (Celestial Pearl Danio).
- Captive Bred: Most available fish are captive-bred, which helps protect wild populations.
