Chilobrachys kaeng krachan is a species of tarantula, commonly called the Dark Earth Tiger, or Giant Dark Earth Tiger native to Thailand It is a large, heavy-webbing, fossorial (burrowing) tarantula known for its aggressive and defensive temperament, making it suitable for advanced keepers. The adult female is typically a velvet black color, while the male is smaller and browner.
