The Emperor Scorpion (Pandinus imperator) is a large and impressive species of scorpion found in parts of Africa. It is one of the largest scorpions in the world. With its black body and strong pincers, it can reach lengths of up to 8 inches. Emperor Scorpions are nocturnal and have a lifespan of around 6 to 8 years. They are venomous but not considered highly dangerous to humans. These scorpions are popular in the exotic pet trade due to their striking appearance and relatively docile nature.
This impressive invertebrate is one of the largest scorpions in the world, topping out at nearly 8″. They generally live from five to eight years in captivity and will feast upon just about any insect that dares to cross its path.
