Charcoal is a great substrate for culturing springtails. This high quality charcoal provides plenty of surface area that springtails need to produce and thrive. Charcoal also reduces odors and makes harvesting springtails simple.
Just add water and pour out all the excess water and spring tails. Each 4/4 bag is the perfect amount to start a shoebox size, springtail culture cult.
Charcoal can also be used as a substrate additive to increase drainage and aeration.
