Otocinclus arnoldi is a small, peaceful, armored catfish (approx. 1.9 inches/4.8 cm) from South American river systems, highly prized as an efficient algae eater for freshwater aquarium cleanup crews. They are gregarious, requiring groups of 6+ to feel secure, and are ideal for planted community tanks.Key Care Requirements:Diet: Primarily herbivorous, they eat green algae, brown algae, and diatoms. They require supplementing with algae wafers or fresh veggies if algae is scarce.Tank Setup: Prefers planted tanks with plenty of hiding spots.
Water Parameters: Prefers soft and slightly acidic water.Behavior: Active during the day (diurnal), frequently grazing on glass and plants.
