The Pumpkin Patch Tarantula, also known as Hapalopus Sp. Colombia, is a small to medium - sized tarantula native to Colombia. They are known for their distinctive appearance and feisty personality.
* APPEARANCE: Black and orange patterned carapace and abdomen, resembling a Pumpkin Patch. Orange - brown coloration, reddish - orange legs, and velvety exoskeleton.
* SIZE: Legs can grow 4-6 inches, carapace is about 2 inches. Females can reach 3.5-4 inches, while males are smaller.
* TEMPERMENT: Fast and skittish, but rarely aggressive.
* BEHAVIOR: Voracious eaters, scavenging pre-killed crickets. Drink from silk and water dishes.
* HABITAT: Ground-dwelling, thriving in warm environments with moderate humidity.
* LIFESPAN: Males live 3-4 years, females 8-10 years.
